Joyfully Creating Indoors and Out
A Maker at Heart
Get to Know Me
I am a full-time teacher who spends her free time connecting with nature. I am a maker at heart. I grew up learning to use my hands to create; it's in my blood-a true part of my heritage. My grandmothers were exceptional makers. As immigrants to Canada, they learned how to make something from nothing. Gardening was second nature and growing up, I learned how to garden and enjoy the fruits of that labour from them. My grandmothers were excellent cooks, bakers, and hand-crafters (textiles). They passed those skills down to me.
My grandfather was an inventor. He could create useful tools to solve everyday needs. Need a juice-making fruit press? He built one. A dehydrator? Check. Doll furniture for his only granddaughter? Coming right up. He loved a challenge and tinkering in his shop.
Over the years, I have found my way back to my maker roots. I have reignited my passion for gardening, cooking, and baking. I love to create with my hands, invent when an idea strikes, and share my knowledge with those who are interested. This blog has been developed for that purpose.
